WHAT FILM DEFINES YOU AND WHY?
That's a difficult one ... I have never been compared to a film before.... But okay 'Sister Act 2'. Lauryn hill finding herself despite her mother being against her doing music. My parents were never too keen on me wanting to do music full time ... .. But now the story has changed, I have full support in every way.
WHAT SONG BEST DESCRIBES YOU AND WHY?
There are may songs that reflect aspects of my life, but I believe we all have our own song and dance. For this reason I have selected my own.
I have a song called ‘Thing Of My Own’’, which describes me just being ME and doing the best I can to reach my full potential.

Music mainly, but I am a very artistic individual. I like to dabble in many other creative things such as Art, fashion and composing.
HAS MUSIC BEEN YOUR ART HUSTLE FOR A WHILE NOW?
Music was embedded in me since I was born. I can honestly say that I don’t really remember the beginning. I’ve always had the eye to draw, write and create from way back.
WHERE/WHO DO YOU DRAW YOUR INSPIRATION FROM?
I love world music so much.Growing up my parents listened to a lot of Soul Music, so that's how my love for music developed. My Dad owned a lot of Motown records, from Marvyn Gaye, Barry White, Diana Ross all the greats straight across to Disco, funk and African music.
WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO CREATIVELY? TELL ME WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN WORKING ON.
My main focus had been making music and developing myself as a creative individual. Writing material for myself and co writing with others. I have also been producing my own material musically and writing songs with my guitar and piano.
ARE THERE ANY OTHER AREAS YOU HAVE BEEN EXPLORING CREATIVELY?
Apart from the music I draw, design and customize clothing. This is more a personal hobby... singing, writing and composing music is my main focus in life right now. Maybe when I have accomplished what I believe is achievable with my music, I will endeavor to explore other areas fully.
WHAT IS THE FEELING WHEN ON STAGE?
Nothing else matters. I step into a different body, I am no longer the 'Kadi' that my friends call me, but this sassy, sentuious singer 'Kadija Kamara'. Kadija Kamara is a tad shy in comparison to Kadi!
DO YOU PLAY ALONE OR WITH A BAND?
I have a band which consists of Bass, Keys, Drum, Guitar and 2 backing Vocalists. From time to time I like to the a few intimate sets with just vocals and guitar and sometimes with a little percussion
ARE THERE ANY PLACES, EXHIBITIONS, SHOWS, GIGS THAT YOU HAVE BEEN TO THAT HAVE INFLUENCED YOU CREATIVELY, OR ANY YOU JUST REALLY LIKED?
Great music gets me excited..I go to a lot of live shows all the time. I love music as a whole so anything from Jazz, Hip-hop, Pop, Soul, and dance ... I absolutely love.I love Janelle Monae and Corinne Bailey Rae to name a few; they put a lot into their music and not just lyrically. The music is outstanding, as every aspect of it has been cleverly and perfectly put together.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WHAT YOU DO?
I love writing music. It is a great thing when people share your vision on music. When those ideas are fully executed, it’s a wondrous feeling hearing the finished product. Music is purifying...
